چکیده

(1) Background: since the technologies of anesthesia and surgery were advanced, video-assisted thoracic (VATS) under local (LA) has been widely carried out is considered a robust surgical technique to prevent recurrence pneumothorax in patients with recurrent primary spontaneous (PSP). In this study, postoperative clinical outcomes compared evaluate feasibility efficacy VATS LA general (GA) PSP. (2) Methods: 255 underwent wedge resection for PSP our hospital from January 2014 June 2019. Of them, 30 operation others GA. Except method, same was adopted all patients. All medical records retrospectively reviewed. (3) Results: total time days relatively shorter, post-chest tube drainage significantly shorter (0.04), visual analog scale (VAS) scores outpatient clinic lower group than GA (p = 0.01). The incidence after discharge (3.3%) also (18.67%) 0.001). group, there no cases conversion intubation. (4) Conclusions: results showed better sedation treatment Hence, can be as anesthetic applicable

Postoperative recurrences of pneumothorax in video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery for primary spontaneous pneumothorax in young patients.

PURPOSE The postoperative recurrence rate of pneumothorax tends to be higher with thoracoscopic bullectomy than with conventional plication of bullae by axillary thoracotomy or posterolateral thoracotomy. We analyzed the risk factors for postoperative recurrence of pneumothorax in young patients treated with thoracoscopic bullectomy alone for primary spontaneous pneumothorax. METHODS Univaria...

Video-assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery Versus Axillary Thoracotomy in Primary Spontaneous Pneumothorax

Introduction: Video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) is now commonly used for primary spontaneous pneumothorax. In the present study we compared the outcomes of this technique with those obtained by conventional thoracotomy.Material and Methods: In this cross-sectional stud, forty patients were enrolled into two groups: VATS (n=20) and thoracotomy (n=20). In both groups the blebs were resected ...

Thoracoscopic wedge resection of blebs under local anesthesia with sedation for treatment of a spontaneous pneumothorax.

We performed thoracoscopic wedge resections of blebs with a stapling device under local anesthesia with sedation in 34 consecutive patients who presented with spontaneous pneumothoraces. The indications for surgery included the absence of parietal pleural adhesions and knowledge of the precise bleb location prior to the procedure. Prior to surgery, 0.5% lidocaine was administered into the pleur...

The feasibility and safety of thoracoscopic surgery under epidural and/or local anesthesia for spontaneous pneumothorax: a meta-analysis

The aim of this study was to compare thoracoscopic surgery for spontaneous pneumothorax under epidural and/or local anesthesia (ELA) with that under general anesthesia and prove the feasibility and safety of thoracoscopic surgery under ELA for spontaneous pneumothorax. Relevant studies were searched in five databases from their date of publication to June 2016. We collected and analyzed the dat...
